One More Thing

Let talk more...Actually there is many people try to do somethings great for Hong Kong:

1. http://www.chinamantaggin.com/ - Syan aka MCYan, he's the legend of Hong Kong, but now he is bombin more in China and foucs on rappin, don't have much new things from him can see in the streets in Hong Kong. What's the reason?Syan?

2. http://www.urbanmessenger.org/ - made by Katol and Base. In this website, we can found many interesting and useful streetarts stuff right there, but it starts to going down after serveral years and many people turn to use flickr rather than posting photos there. And bad news is the web is DOWN!! what happened Katol Base?!!

3. http://www.mastersoul.com/ - made by me and JHSN. Actaully we want to make some noise about urban lifestyle, music and arts in Hong Kong. But JHSN is really too rush for working and you know one-man business is always impossible to build up. so.........shit!

4. http://www.dirty-panda.com/ - montana spray can supplier in Hong Kong. I'm friend with them, they do good business, but there is not much stuff about graffiti. What you can feel?

5. http://www.chinastylus.com/ - Jay, the founder of this graphic design house. They not only do graphic design, but also do streetarts stuff. They hold two exhibitons in the company before, quite successful and we can see many interested stuff. But the problem is it's a "limited company", not a govn't funding or support organization. So you will feel streetarts is just a part of their business but not all. So you know what I'm sayin right?

6. http://www.warehouse.org.hk/ - This is the best place I know who support for graffiti. At least you can find many great legal graffiti there and they do many things to support this culture. They're also not gov't funding organization, but they allow a space for you to create anytimes . Thanks to Ellen, you do it great!

So who else can help the arts and culture? Please let me know? I got no answer....

Give Up - Hong Kong

Hong Kong is really a suck place for developing arts.
All people is just Money, money and money in their mind..who else is still care about our urban lifestyle? our traditional building? our original ideas?
You may ask why suddenly I will have this shout out. this is because I see this website:
http://www.adfuntureworkshop.com/.
Eddi Yip- a Hong Kon people, who is the founder of adfunture. They just open a concept shop in Shanghai. They have many works of UK and US and also China artist, like D-Faces, Flyfortress, Seen, and SICE. China started the graffiti later than us, but they are getting better and better than us? why?what is the reason?
and also we can see Michael Lau Vinyl Creators shows he work there, but why not Hong Kong? Hong Kong should be your good place to show your products right?
WHY THEY CHOOSE SHANGHAI BUT NOT HONG KONG?!
I asked him and he said "Hong Kong don't have a good sense of arts, especial graffiti/streetarts".
I asked Selph[ESP crew] , who is a graffiti artist in Hong Kong, lived in UK for 10 years before, he said "i have been here one year now and still do not feel a real sense of proudness, originality or community spirit".

I really feel disappointed and blue abut that.
you can't find a good community to boost up or sharing with each others, you can't find a good place to demonstrate your works except you hav money to book the places, you can't find a good man who is willing to help you without giving them reasonable money, what you can find is just a high rental building with no happy face inside, a museum which is no people to walk inside and talk about it, a reclamation place which is no one know how to use.....

It times to think about the reason to stay in Hong Kong.

昨天收到ChinaStylus Jay 既email,內容如下:

Hey Lung... Thx again.. and yes OF COURSE you can join the projects.. I do not want to exclude anyone from what we are doing - we are not an exclusive club - it is open to anyone and everyone with enthusiasm and the right attitude!! Just keep in touch with me and the the others (big mad, dom etc) and I'll make sure I mail you next time we start the next new project...

Thx for the positive attitude!
J.

好一句"not an exclusive club",令我好
